Help. I have just made two pound cakes and the center of the cake keeps falling in. What am I doing wrong?
Mss Haden to me it sounds like your cakes did not bake long enough. These are my thoughts on your problem. If the cakes rose to make a mounded top the temperature is ok. If they have a flat top the temperature is not high enough your oven control could be giving you a false reading. you might want to test it by putting a oven thermometer in the oven to check. Or you could stick a tooth pick in the cake to test if it is done if cake clings to the tooth pick you will know it's not done. I hope this will help you on the next baking. jim b
